You want to create a solid shared DoD for your team? Here are my recommendations for an effective DoD creation :<\/p>\n

1. Ask the right questions:<\/strong> Fuel the discussion within your team by asking the all the relevant questions for your context as a team and as an organisation :<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

2. Facilitation is key: <\/strong>A good way to facilitate this meeting is to use the Liberating Structure 1- 2- 4- All<\/em>: Try to answer the questions above individually, in pairs then foursomes and finally with the whole team.<\/p>\n

3. Your limit is the sky:<\/strong>The developers should brainstorm everything that would ensure the highest quality and most complete Increment.Regardless of the feasibility, the team should think with zero constraints in mind.<\/p>\n

4. Group by feasibility:<\/strong>Once all thoughts are shared, try to categorise your ideas according to their achievability: now, in the near future and then the distant future:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Visualize your DoD : <\/strong>Now that you have agreed to what is possible now, you can visualize your actual shared DoD having in mind the next steps (next and future) to upgrade it for a highest-quality one:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

6. Review your DoD : <\/strong>Finally, don’t forget to schedule your DoD review periodically (perhaps quarterly), as inspection and adaptation is at the heart of the Agile team’s processes.<\/p>\n
